At Melva Balemong, Javanese houses that once stood across Central Java were carried here piece by piece and cared for so they may continue to live. At the threshold of Balemong stands the Sewaka, a Joglo built in the late 1700s. Originally from Demak, Central Java, it is now reborn as the resort’s front gate and lobby. Its pillars of sacred teak rise in quiet strength, once touched by the hand of a noble official from the past.
The roof shelters guests with seven sacred tiers, an ancient design that embodies balance and protection. A golden verse was once placed above its crown, carved into the wood as a quiet sign of faith and blessing. Here, presence is not just felt but honored.
